Singularity LT, 250mlSingularity LT, 250mlSingularity LT is a sprayable, low temperature activating formulation of Singularity, suited to application on canvas and many textiles, polymers, and wood. It is activated by heating to ~150C (300F), which can be accomplished with a hair dryer or paint stripper. It creates a coating that will absorb 98.5% of visible light incident upon it.
We recommend that customers consult with NanoLab personnel before working with the paint to ensure good results and safe practices. Pricing does not include ground hazmat shipping to the continental United States. Contact us for international orders. .Coverage ~250 cm 2 (~6"x 6")

As of October 15, 2021, all Singularity Black Low Temp products will be a 2x concentrated strength, giving the customer more area coverage than previously offered with the 1x strength Over the past year, Nanolab, Inc has worked to engineer and improve their pioneer product, Singularity Black Low Temperature Optical Paint. We believe offering the 2x strength will benefit our customers while achieving the low reflectance they have come to expect with our coating but using less paint. If you want to work in the older 1x strength after October 15th, you will need to dilute this in a 50:50 ratio with THF solvent. We look forward to continuing to progress forward with our Black Optical Paints in the years to come. Any questions, please reach out sales@nano-lab.com

On Safety: When Singularity is sprayed through an air brush, the aerosolized particles contain the polymeric binder, the carbon nanotubes and the fugitive solvent. These polymer-bound particles should not pose a health risk, but caution is warranted with any new material. Droplet sizes we have measured are typically larger than 5 microns, but other sprayers may differ in aerosolization. A respirators with a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) rating of P95 or greater have been shown to prevent the inhalation of CNTs under normal breathing conditions, and is mandatory safety equipment. The properties of nanotubes are not yet well understood, so use caution.

PLEASE NOTE : Due to the special packaging required to ship flammable liquids, we do not accept returns of Singularity Black LT.
Please discuss with NanoLab if there is a concern about shipping.

  • Singularity ScratchpadSingularity ScratchpadWe coat a 6 inch square white glazed ceramic tile or glass window pane with Singularity, and leave it in its partially cured state. At this stage, the coating can be removed just as you would work any other scratchpad, with pin tools, blades, etc. The partially cured Singularity leaves no residue when stripped, so you can obtain extreme contrast with the white tile, or make unique depth effects with the glass. Shown above, the coating has been removed from the tile, leaving the fracture pattern, and then heated to 300C to activate the coating. Note- to prevent cracking, ensure even heating when activating the coating. Make use of a kiln or dedicate a small broiler oven.

Gravity Black Oil Paint, 37ml Gravity Black Oil Paint, 37ml Gravity Black is our answer to the oil painters who loved working with Singularity, and wanted an oil paint version. Gravity Black is a linseed oil based, carbon nanotube filled paint that creates an exceptionally matte, deep black color, and blends into other paints without imparting a change in hue. Ships in a standard 37ml tube. Shipping costs are not included in price of paint.

Singular Velvet Applique&#769, 12x12"Singular Velvet Appliqué, 12x12"Singular Velvet Appliqué is one of the darkest materials we make. It is a 12"x12" square velvet, over-coated with Singularity LT, and backed with an aerospace grade adhesive 3M 467MP. Optically, it absorbs >99% of visible light (400-800nm), and absorbs very well in the infrared, >98.7% at 2000nm. As an applique, it can be cut to any shape, and then applied to a surface. It has exceptional grazing angle performance too, so it is perfect for telescope lining, or other projects where a low outgassing, high performance appliqué is required.

Morgan White Acrylic, 150mLMorgan White Acrylic, 150mLMorgan White is a new white, formulated from a lab-synthesized particle with exceptionally flat response across the spectrum. It will not hue your paints, they simply lighten or darken what is present in the color you are blending. Morgan White is a premium, matte acrylic paint, but with NanoLab's nanotechnology based fillers/pigments. This pigment is in a flake form, with nanoscale thickness. This lets it glide smoothly and behave as a clean, untinted background for anything mixed with it. It will be dry-to the-touch in several hours. Morgan White is extremely light fast- as a stable, inorganic nanostructure, it is archival. It will not degrade.

IM 1.6 IM 1.6 is index matched to glass, so it creates a void black absorber for situations when light travels through glass and no internal reflection is desired. In contrast to Singularity Black, which is index matched to air, IM1.6 provides an absorbing coating for glass and other optics. Nanolab staff can adjust the paint's refractive index from 1.55 to 1.75 for exact requirements. IM1.6 can be applied by spray coating, dipping, or brush. The formulation contains carbon nanotubes, a solvent and a binder phase suited for adhesion to glass. Sold in 200ml jars. Due to the flammable solvent, note that this product ships as a hazardous material.
