COOH Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes (Research Grade, high purity)
We start with our purified PD15L5-20 multiwall carbon nanotubes (purity >95% by TGA) and perform a reflux in sulfuric/nitric acid to functionalize the surfaces of these nanotubes. This process results in a large concentration of carboxyl (-COOH) groups on the nanotube surface, and may also generate other groups (e.g. –OH) as well. After functionalization, these carboxylated nanotubes have 2-7 wt% COOH by titration. Images below are FTIR spectrum and Raman Spectrum Data of our COOH functionalized nanotubes.
